Associate Naturopathic Doctor

From a young age, Shawn has felt a calling to the medical profession. He began his training at McGill University in Montreal, completing a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. He continued to study the role between diet and health through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, earning his Registered Holistic Nutritionist designation. After working for three years in the natural foods and supplements industries, Shawn enrolled at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, completing a four-year, full-time professional program in naturopathic medicine.

Shawn treats a wide range of conditions in his general family practice, including arthritis, hay fever, menstrual complaints, prostate conditions, mental illness, muscular injuries, thyroid diseases, autoimmune disorders, skin conditions, poor immune function and digestive issues.  He has also successfully treated migraines, endometriosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.  His areas of special interest include children’s health, prenatal and post-partum care and the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.

In his practice, Shawn utilizes all of the tools available to the naturopathic doctor including acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathic medicine, herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, hydrotherapy and naturopathic physical therapies. In addition to his naturopathic training, Shawn has had specialized training in homeopathic medicine and hydrotherapy.  He is inspired by the flexibility and depth of naturopathic medicine, and its ability to treat a variety of acute and chronic disorders.

Shawn’s mission is to provide a healing environment where his patients receive excellent naturopathic medical care and feel respected and understood. At the same time he strives to educate and empower his patients so that they can understand their health and take a more proactive role in their health care decisions.

Shawn is currently accepting new patients and welcomes the opportunity to do lectures for the public, corporations, government and  organizations. He lives near Ottawa with his wife and two young sons.
