Commitment to the Environment
Commitment to the Environment Because the OIHC believes that a healthy patient needs a healthy environment. The services that we offer carry a low environmental load and leave a very small carbon footprint. We use only green cleaning products and 100% post consumer recycled paper. The clinic is also completely latex and scent free. For more information on how we work to protect the environment, or on advice for how you can make a difference, please contact the clinic or talk to your Naturopathic Doctor.

What to expect
Visiting our clinic may be unlike any doctor’s or therapist appointment you have ever had. Since our focus is on prevention and teaching you healthy habits to ensure optimal health, the visit is about you as an individual. Your Pracitioner will need to know as much as possible about you and your family, your lifestyle and your health. For this reason, our initial appointments are typically much longer in order to ensure an accurate assessment is performed.
During your first visit with a Naturopathic Doctor at the OIHC, you can expect your ND to take a thorough history as well as conduct a full physical exam. Further diagnostic testing may be recommended at this time. Treatment plans and options will be presented at your follow-up appointment, and you will decide which options will work best for you.
In an initial appointment with our Psychotherapists, you can expect to have ample opportunity to discuss your current mental health concerns, relationship concerns, and perhaps physical concerns. A physical exam will not take place, but your therapist may wish to correspond with your referring MD or ND if needed for information about your physical health.
What to expect during your first Bioflex Laser Therapy: Also known as Low-Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT), Bioflex Laser Therapy is a light-based technology proven to be highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems and wound healing. The technology allows for a relaxing non-invasive and non-toxic treatment with no adverse effects. Typically, compounding improvements can be observed after 3 to 6 sessions. Depending on the type of injury, the number of sessions can vary between 6 to 20 treatments, and the duration of each session can range from 15 minutes to 1 hour).
During your first visit with an Osteopathic Manual Therapist (OMT) at the OIHC, you can expect a full health history and physical assessment from head to toe with regards to range of motion and symmetry. The OMT will also assess the texture of your body tissues (muscles, bones, joints, organs) and will identify the variations in superficial skin temperature throughout the body. Variations in skin temperature allows the OMT to determine where there may be abnormal blood flow, indicating poor function. It is best to wear loose fitting clothing during your sessions(s) and to avoid wearing jeans, a hoodie, or a dress/skirt (unless opaque leggings are worn underneath). Exercises will not be given after the treatment, however, recommendations on posture and physical activity will be made.
During your first visit with one of our Certified Coaches, you can expect ample time to discuss your area of least satisfaction and how it may be impacting your wellness journey. You will also have time allotted to walk through your intake questionnaire and explore any follow up questions from your complimentary discovery session. This will allow us to best identify a path forward together.
