Jason King, DOMP, Osteopathic Manual Therapist

Jason graduated from the College d’Etudes Osteopathique (CEO), completing the 6 year program and obtaining a Diploma in Osteopathy Manual Practice (DOMP) and is in good standing with the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO). In his sixth year he successfully defended a thesis titled “The Effects of Osteopathic Manual Therapy of the Abdominopelvic Viscera in Non-Specific Low Back Pain”. Prior to his Osteopathic studies Jason worked as a Kinesiologist and Holistic Health Practitioner.
Jason has been characterized as being compassionate, caring and empathetic with his treatments. Jason’s approach is holistic in nature; he believes everything has the capacity to affect everything! His practice is focused on working with the individual to help them find the root cause of their underlying symptoms and in doing so provide support for a more balanced life. He utilizes gentle structural and functional hands-on techniques. Jason works with all individuals including adults, children (including infants), pre and post-natal, and the elderly.

Born and raised in St. John’s, NL, Jason has always had a passion for health and wellness. It was his own struggles with health that has guided him to where he is today. As an avid athlete and outdoor enthusiast all his life he was drawn to movement, rehabilitation and working to improve the health of himself and those around him.
Jason first moved to Ottawa after graduating from Memorial University of Newfoundland and the University of Calgary, with Nutritional Biochemistry and Kinesiology degrees, respectively. At this time, he worked as a Cardiovascular technologist and a Kinesiologist over a 10 year period. Given his quest of continuing education and exploration of holistic health practices Jason complemented his prior health knowledge by enrolling in CHEK Institute where he became a CHEK Practitioner and a Holistic Health Coach. After 10 years, Newfoundland’s rugged terrain was calling him, so he returned to his “home” to recharge, and it was at this time he was introduced to Osteopathy.

In the present, Jason and his partner, Kim, who is also an Osteopath Manual Practitioner, have returned to Ottawa to further their evolving osteopathic manual careers.
When not at the clinic his other interests include fly fishing, cycling, cross country & downhill skiing and spending time with family and friends.

“Life is like a boomerang, you always get what you throw out”- Paul Chek
