Description: If you’re feeling heavy right now, it may be a sign that it’s time to let go of some grief. After a moving and metamorphic summer run, The Power of Nature to Transform Suffering: A Grief Circle, returns this fall to the tranquil setting of Ottawa’s Wesley Clover Park Campground.

What’s different? Not only will you have the opportunity to tap into the colour and magic of autumn, but a fourth session has also been added, giving you the chance to learn even more impactful content and useful tools to better understand your loss, process your emotions and tend to yourself as you grieve. The extra session will grant you more time to dive deeper into the work and integrate your experience.

Certified Coach and Shamanic Practitioner, Barbara Brunzell, acts as a gentle and nurturing guide, helping you to explore the rough terrain of grief and uncover new ways to navigate its hills and valleys. She also introduces you to ritual, as a potent way to let go and ultimately transform your suffering.

Grief is a universal experience, one that comes in waves that can knock you off your feet. Grief is not limited to the loss of a loved one. You can grieve those places that have not known love or the things wanted, but never received. You can carry the grief of your ancestors and the sorrows of the world at large. Grief can also show up during milestone moments such as: retirement, a career shift, when a child leaves home, when you end a relationship, or make any sort of change in your life.

When something dies, something will be born. In order to make room for the new, we must take steps to feel, honour, and release the grief living in our hearts and minds first. One of the most effective ways to do this is to be surrounded by a supportive community, one that creates a safe container for our sadness, and bears witness to our grief, so we can release and be renewed.

This is what The Grief Circle experience provides. Join us in the kind of healing environment only nature can provide. Tap on the button below to register or call the OIHC front desk at 613-798-1000 to secure your spot today.

Description: Surfing the waves of grief can throw you off balance and its choppy waters can leave you struggling to catch your breath. If you’re feeling off kilter and struggling with the weight of it all, fall into the healing embrace of a grief circle, and experience its transformative power.

After a successful run this summer in the great outdoors, Certified Coach and Shamanic Practitioner, Barbara Brunzell, is now offering one of her well-loved grief circles in the comfortable indoor setting of the Ottawa Integrative Health Centre.

A Grief Circle for Women: The Healing Power of Ritual includes four, two-hour sessions, where not only will you learn about gates, stages and different models of grief, but you’ll also be taken on a journey to help you better understand your own personal losses. You’ll learn life-changing tools and practices to help you tend to yourself as you grieve and walk with it out in the world. You’ll use various techniques to help you plumb the depths of your emotions, so you might share, process and learn from them.

All of this healing work is amplified through Barbara’s use of art, poetry, music, and most importantly, ritual. It is a potent combination that heightens your ability to lift, let go and transform your suffering.

Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Andrea Prazmowski, of Forest Therapy Ottawa, invites you to step out of stress and into a vibrant connection with land, sky, water, trees and the natural world during her 1.5 hour morning nature immersion walk.

Sound Vibration and Reiki Practitioner, Katherine Fillmore of Universoul Harmony treats you to a transformative sound bath in the afternoon to help you quiet the mind, relax the body and connect on new levels with your intuitive self. Using various sacred sound instruments, Tibetan bowls and gongs, she uses many different types of sounds to help people find their true inner peace whilst channeling Reiki energy.
